Detectable Warning Mats are designed to be used on asphalt and concrete surfaces. They are supplied with a
pre-applied, proprietary PSA adhesive and are available in 2 ft. x 3 ft. and 2 ft x 4 ft. mats. Independent test
reports performed to ASTM test methods below:
ASTM C 1028............... Slip Resistance Coefficient
ASTM C 501.................. Abrasive Wear
ASTM G 154.................. Fade Resistance
ASTM D 1308............... Chemical Stain Resistance
ASTM C 1026............... Freeze/Thaw Resistance
ASTM E 1349................ Contrast
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Composition: Detectable Warning Mats are produced from a proprietary blend of high quality rubber, pigments and
colorants. They are cured polymeric articles with high mechanical properties.
Applicability To Pavement Surfaces:
Detectable Warning Mats shall be applied to clean and dry surfaces in accordance
with the manufacture’s recommendations.
Adhesion:
Uses a high tac PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive), with primer on substrate.
Pigmentation:
Safety yellow, black, red and brick red.
Tensile:
1600 psi minimum with 125% Tear “C” elongation as tested per applicable ASTM Rubber Methods.
Hardness:
60 - 100 Shore “A” Durometer
Thickness:
Mat base is approximately 0. 100 to 0.120 inches with raised truncated domes per ADA Federal Guidelines.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Detectable Warning Mats, when applied according to the manufacture’s recommendation, shall provide a minimum
service period of 60 months. In snow removal areas, aggressive plowing or shoveling may shorten life cycle. |
